6. 為小型企業安裝SQL Server 2008 (R2) 標準版的一些限制
如果您為小型企業安裝 SQL Server 2008 (R2) 標準版，而您的機器并不在域內，你會遇到這樣的報錯 ” Operating system supported for edition ”. To solve this issue, you should add your computer into one of your company’s domain or create a new domain by “DCPROMO”. It has limitation for the domain to install SQL Server.
Windows Small Business Server 2011 高級版包括 SQL Server 2008 R2http://www.microsoft.com/sbs/en/us/editions-overview.aspx.這個版本和標準版的特性相同。區別是SQL 2008 SBS 標準版是一個特殊的標準版，該標準版是針對Small Business Server的版本，屬于中小型企業套裝的一部分，只能和對應的中小型企業套裝版的Windows Small Business Server 2008一起安裝和使用。
SQL Server SBS版本需滿足以下幾個條件：
1．這個版本的SQL Server只能安裝在：
Windows Server 2008 Standard
Windows Server 2008 Standard without Hyper-V
Windows Small Business Server 2008
Windows Server 2008 for Windows Essential Server Solutions
Windows Server 2008 without Hyper-V for Windows Essential Server Solutions
請注意： SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard for small business是可以安裝在Windows Server 2008 Enterprise上，但是SQL Server 2008 Standard for small business則不可以。
2．Windows Server必須加入一個域，并且是Active Directory forest的根
3．該域和其他域不存在信任關系
4．該域不能有任何子域
5．該域中的用戶和設備總和不超過75
6．客戶不能同時在該域的其他操作系統中運行相同序列號的SQL Server軟件

如果你發現你的服務器并沒有在任何一個域中，解決這個問題的最直接的辦法是利用“開始->運行->DCPROMO”為他創建一個新域。其他需要連接SQL Server的機器則不需要在這個域中。
