經過1月3日和1月18日兩輪RC后，PostgreSQL 8.3終于在本月初正式發布了。該版本有很多功能和性能上的重大提升，包括全文搜索、新的數據類型(XML、ENUM、UUID等)、并發autovacuum、異步提交等等，以及對Windows平臺更好的支持，如SSPI和VC++等。
